Audition Notice

PEP Productions is extremely excited to announce auditions for their August 2013 production of

“bare – The Musical”

Audition Dates:

Vocal:

Monday 22nd April (7:30 – 10:30pm)

Tuesday 23rd April (7:30 – 10:30pm)

Wednesday 24th April (7:30-10.30pm)

Thursday 25th April (12pm – 5pm)

Movement:

Sunday 21st April (7-9pm)

Sunday 28th April (1-3pm)

Call Backs:

Audition Requirements:

Vocal:

All auditionees should prepare two contrasting songs (not from the show) that show off both range and character. One song should be in the style of the show. You may not be required to sing both songs but please be prepared if the production team requests.

Bring sheet music in folder ready for the accompanist. Must be in correct key.

Backing tracks on CDs are acceptable but must have no vocals.

Please note it is unlikely you will complete songs so choose an appropriate part of the song which showcases your voice and range. Auditionees may be required to take part on a vocal range exercise.

All auditionees will also be required to perform a monologue (which will be provided on confirmation of audition booking)

Bring a clear head shot of yourself.

You may prepare a CV of your training and experience.

Please provide details of singing, acting & dance training.

If you don’t prepare a CV you will be asked to write these details on the audition form.

Dance:

A movement audition will be conducted at the above mentioned time. Please wear comfortable clothes (no denim)

All auditionees will be required to partake in the dance audition.

Jason : handsome golden child of St. Cecilia’s senior class (must be comfortable in sexuality also good at hiding said sexuality, a wide range of emotional characteristics also required)

Peter: introspective, Jason’s clandestine boyfriend (must be comfortable with sexuality and able to portray traits and emotions convincingly)

Ivy: pretty, popular, insecure

Nadia: Jason’s pudgy, sardonic twin sister (mustn’t be afraid of being portrayed as ugly on stage)

Matt: studious, pious, Jason’s academic rival, also in love with Ivy (a real jock, been brought up to be the best but is not (short man syndrome complex)

Lucas: the schools fun loving purveyor of altered reality (the kid on the wrong side of the tracks with all the connections)

Diane: Asian student, very naive (must be able to play bad understudy of Juliet)

Sr. Chantelle: African American nun, with attitude, (think Mary j blidge)

Priest: St. Cecilia’s headmaster (a raw character with stern beliefs in his faith)
